Torino, Italia
Buongiorno, It is another beautiful day in Torino. Gloria is taking Luisa to Milano for the day, so we have Amadea for the day. Tiziana and I got up and got the girls dressed and feed them breakfast. Tiziana left about 07:30 as usual and I tried my best to keep Luisa and Amadea entertained in the kitchen.
However, Luisa wanted Nonna Mary, she broke free and was off like a shot to find Nonna Mary. Needless to say, although I guess I am about to, Nonna Mary was awake a few minutes later. We played with the girls until Gloria showed up.
Gloria showed us how to use the babybjorn. She is taking the stroller to Milano so we have no way to get Amadea around. We decided to go for a walk. It seemed an easier way to entertain Amadea. So, the babybjorn was strapped on my chest and Amadea loaded.
Now adding an additional 12 or 13 kilos to your front is never a really good idea. Ok maybe if you are 20 something, or even maybe 30 something; but at 70 something it is a tad more difficult. We took off down Via Giuseppe Verdi towards The Place and the university. We turned on Via Sain’Ottavio past the McDonalds and headed to the Via Po where we took a left and headed down towards Piazza Castello and Palazzo Madama.
At this point we thought a stroller, even a cheap one, would be a good idea. But where would you buy one? Probably at a baby store, but we haven’t seen anything like that in the old part of town. Then we thought of Rinascente, the Macy’s like department store, maybe they would have one.
We turned at Piazza C.L.N., acronym for Comitato di Liberazione Nazionale, a small piazza located just behind the two "twin" churches of Piazza San Carlo (Santa Cristina and San Carlo), iin the direction of Rinascente. Entered the store and went all the way up to the top floor where the baby clothes were located. Mary inquired abut a stroller, but they simply said no. Then it was back down and out the door. We turned right after exiting and headed down Via Giuseppe Luigi Lagrange back towards Piazza Madama.
We gave up looking for a stroller and headed back to Serra’s. All in all we probably covered 5 or 6 km before getting back to Serra’s. It was hard work, but Amadea was asleep peacefully for the last thirty minutes or so. Somehow the dead weight of her being asleep was more difficult than when she was awake.
When we got back to Serra’s I managed a nap, while Mary watched Amadea. Gloria and Luisa got back close to 18:00, having been on a train that stopped because of some sort of medical emergency on the way back from Milano for 40 minutes.
Tiziana arrived at 18:00 and took for for us. The girls went down easily probably because of their big day. Amadea really loved the babybjorn, but a beer sized on may be needed if it is going to continue to be used. A second stroller will probably a better choice.
Buonanotte e Ciao, Enrico e Maria.
