Torino, Italy
Buongiorno,
This morning Damilia, Mary and I met at our place about 10. We completed our ballots for the November election. Then we walked to the DHL store on Piazza Giambattista Bodoni and sent them to the Registrar of Voters in Santa Rosa. Afterwards we continued walking to Kids Clothing Company on Via Giuseppe Luigi Lagrange. Apparently everything is on sale, and goodness knows Serra & Pietro need all the help they can get buying clothing for Luisa and Amadea.
I went next door to Gerla Lagrange and had a cappuccino and brioche. There was enough time to have two, maybe even three, before they were done shopping. One they had finished I used the WeTaxi app and order a taxi to take us to the big Eataly Lingotto Store. Lingotto is a building complex on Via Nizza. It was once a Fiat factory with a test track on the roof. Today it still houses the Fiat administrative headquarters, but in 1989 was converted to a modern shopping complex, with concert halls, theatre, a convention centre, shopping arcade and a hotel. The eastern portion of the building is the headquarters of the Automotive Engineering faculty of the Polytechnic University of Turin. The test track is still on the top floor of the shopping mall.
Damilia hadn’t been here before. We had lunch in Eataly. Mary had a bunless hand burger. I had the chicken and peppers. Damilia had sausages with cauliflower. Damilia and I shared a plate of roast potatoes. Mary and I had beer, Damilia had water. After lunch we bought some meat for Saturday nights dinner, some cheese and a few other items. Then I order a taxi to take us back to Luisa’s. We dropped of Damilia as she had the afternoon shift. Mary and I headed home for a nap.
At 17:30 we went back to Luisa’s to visit with the kids for a while. By 19:30 it was time to move on. Mary and I needed more steps, so we walked down Via Po to Piazza Castello and walk around the outside of Palazzo Madama. The we walked back down Via Po and to the apartment having achieved the minimum 10,000 steps for the day.
Buonanotte e Ciao, Enrico e Maria
