Giza (Cairo), Egypt

Good morning. We have two museums to see today and a visit to the Cairo & Khan Khalili Bazaar by night which starts at 17:00 and goes for 22:00 (it does include dinner), then we have a 06:15 flight in the morning and need to get up and be in the lobby at 03:30. One of the first things we talked to Ahmed about this morning was the possibility of changing the visit to the bazaar from tonight to the night of the 16th when we return to Cairo for one night. He is going to check that out.

We headed downstairs to the Tea Lounge on the third floor which serves as the breakfast room. It is a very light are airy lounge. We got the same table we had yesterday, just under the large circular stained-glass window which really helped brighten the room and give it color. The breakfast is a buffet, as you would expect, is actually very good. It is spread throughout the lounge area.

Breads, jams, cereals, and various yogurts off to my left. Behind me is a small room which has hot foods and an omelette station. This room also contains fresh fruit, dried fruits and nuts. It is a very complete breakfast buffet. We were able to order cappuccini for Mary and I, and Harry V has a pot of black coffee.

This morning Mary and I thought it might be best to have some protein for breakfast so in addition to my brioche I got a chicken, pepper and cheese omelet. Mary did cheese and tomatoes. Yesterday the chef tried to warn me that the peppers were really hot, I told him it was ok I like hot. Yesterday he didn’t put too many in, but they were more sweet than hot. I let him know and this morning he added a lot more. They still weren’t hot, just sweet.

We were in the lobby just before it went 09:00.

The remainder of this day is lost. :>(
