Hurry up and wait!
We have to be out of our suite by 08:00. I started with breakfast in the Coffee Connection at 06:00. They opened a half-hour earlier this morning. At 07:00 I took Mary a muffin and made her tea. At 07:45 we met Mike and Maddie in the observation lounge. It was empty except for us.
Mike and Maddie’s departure time from the ship was 08:00, ours was 08:30. Sure enough at 08:00 they called Mike and Maddie’s color and number, and they were off to the airport. And we waited. It wasn’t until 10:30 that they eventually called Orange 3. There were maybe twenty of us left. Obviously, we were the last group off the ship.
Out into the light rain and cool temperature. Wait! Where are the buses to take us to the airport? There was an accident? We can take a cab and Regent will reimburse us. No one took the bate. A bus finally showed up. We arrived at the airport about 11:30.
We are staying at the Raddison Blu at the airport. It is part of my built in plan – there is going to be a problem – somewhere program. The Raddison is connected to the airport and was really easy to find. Our flight isn’t until Thursday morning. SAS flys directly into Milan. From Malpensa we will take the train to Milano Centrale, switch train and head directly to Torino.
However for now, we will check into our room and get “organized”. We then walked the airport to get our steps and some lunch. We had lunch at W.B. Samson; they are a bakery. They had some fairly nice looking sandwiches so we each chose one and order a cappuccino to drink. Not only did they look good but they were good.
Afterwards we walk back to the hotel. We basically rested. We looked at various tour options but they all seemed to be outdoors. It is raining. Lightly I will grant you but raining none the less.
The day was spent looking at future cruises. Possible tours for tomorrow. Writing the blog. Emailing with Regent.
Then we went back to the airport for dinner. We got chicken sandwiches at Burger King and took them back to the hotel. It was an early night. Hopefully tomorrow will be less rainy.
Buonanotte e Ciao, Enrico e Maria
