Torino, Italia
Another travel day? No not really. Pietro, Damilia and I are returning to Berbenno by car this morning. It is time to take the wine off of the skins and move it into the next fermentation stage. The drive from Torino to Regoledo, a fraction of Berbenno, is about 250 km and will take about 3 and a half hours. Basically, it is drive to Milano, take a left and head towards Lake Como.
We left at 08:00 and arrived in Regoledo about 11:30. We briefly stopped at Mariagiulia and Alfio’s to pick up Damilia’s work boots. We then went to the place where the wine was sitting in the skins. Here we drained the wine from the skins and put it into another fermentation tank. Then we took the skins and put them in the press to remove the remaining liquid. That liquid was then put into the new fermentation tank. In a couple months Pietro will go back and move the liquid into an oak barrel. There are about 500 liters of wine.

After all the work pressing, we drove to Mariagiulia and Alifo’s for lunch. We had tagliatelle with neat sauce, salami, fresh tomatoes with oil and basil, bread and tiramisu. Mariagiulia is such a great cook! After lunch we loaded the cheese and left luggage into the car and drove back to Torino. We managed to get back to Torino about 18:30.
We visited Luisa for a minute and then said good night. Mary and Walked back to our apartment and called it a night.
Buonanotte e Ciao, Enrico e Maria
