Good morning! There are several centimeters of snow outside this morning. Looks like it may have snowed most of the night. Currently it isn’t, and the sky looks clear. There are no plans for today. We will probably just relax, go for a walk, play cards and pack for tomorrow’s departure.

I went downstairs to the breakfast room at 7, as usual. Mary got up just about 10 when I brought her her coffee. By now it had snowed and rained, and the sun finally came up. The weather here seems to change even more quickly than it does in Kansas City. Every three of four minutes there is a change. The temperature hasn’t changed much, it seems to go between -1° C and 1° C. So it is hovering around 32° F.

The snow is mostly gone, just handing around in the corners and shady places. We walked to the bakery next door for lunch. It isn’t very far and the food is very good. Today’s soup was tomato. They really like their tomatoes in Iceland.

Back at the hotel we went down to the lobby bar and played cards while we waited for them to make up our room. Then it was back to the room and try to take a nap, no luck in doing so. We packed and organized our clothing for tomorrow’s departure.

For dinner we picked up sandwiches from the bakery and returned to the bar to play another hand of cards and have the sandwiches. Then it was back up to bed. Nothing interesting today. We might have gone for a little more of a walk, if the weather would make up its mind. But one minute it is raining and another snowing, and then nice for a few minutes. In any case it is cold.

Grace was the Fairy Princess in Kansas City on Saturday. She is all a princess should be.
