Good morning. Got up showered, shaved and got dressed. Made coffee and waited for the commotion to begin. I was going to go in at 07:30 wake up Mary. Her coffee was made and ready. I have to leave with Luisa by 08:30 for school. Not sure why by Tizana is here until 10:00. Gloria is supposed to be here at 09:00. So why wake Mary at 07:30 everything is covered. I’ll let her sleep, or maybe she wants to walk to school with me? Decisions way beyond my pay grade.

Today I want to go to Latteria Bera, Serra’s cheese shop in the Quadrilaterio. They open at 10:00. We need cheese for polenta. A soft young cheese (un formaggio giovane e morbido) for the polenta, which will will cook on Saturday. We also need to go to the store and get more milk. Need to plan something for dinner…..

It had just gone 07:30 when Luisa made her first appearance. Amadea wasn’t much behind that. Tizana cleaned them up. Luisa wasn’t interested in being with me at first. I made scrambled eggs with pancetta for breakfast. Luisa loved it, Amadea devoured it.

There was a little bit of a tantrum when it was time to take Luisa to school. Gloria and I decided that maybe it was a good day to take off from school. Gloria will get to watch both girls all day. Just, so long as I can take a nap.

Mary and I took the day off and rested and prepared for the return of the girls this afternoon. We went for a walk. We went looking for a place to get a toast. The place called Toast wasn’t there anymore and we didn’t want to walk to the train station. So, we stopped at McDonalds to try their toast. It wasn’t bad, just not all that good.

Dinner was a haphazard affair. Some fruit, salami, cheese and the like. Tizana arrived at 19:00 and gave the girls a bath and got them ready for bed. We played a game of cards and then went to bed.
