Torino, Italia

Good morning. Up and at them at 04:00. Worked on the blog a little, did my ironing, and packed for Morocco. Did some online searches for weather and health issues in Morocco. We won’t need to take the Malaria pills anymore; Morocco has been malaria free since 2010. Apparently still need sunscreen and insect repellent.

Looks like the weather will be much like that of Tanzania. Cool or even cold in the morning and evening, but warm or hot during the day. Possibility of a little rain late next week, but it is difficult to know for sure since we will be changing cities nearly every day. Besides, how accurate is the weather app?

So, today I will get one load or two of laundry done. The last load prior to leaving for Morocco. Will work on getting our supplies and extra suitcase back to Serra’s. There is no hurry, our plane doesn’t leave Malpensa until 17:00. Even if we were to get there three hours early, we have until 14:00 to be at the airport.

Of course we have to get to Malpensa. We can take a Filbco bus for €44 for both of us,  from Corso Giuilio Cesare 424 at 11:15 and get to Malpensa at 12:45, or take the train to Milano Centrale at 11:00, arrive in Centrale at 12:02 (Frecciarossa 9535), then take the Malpensa Express Train at 12:25 (Trenord 2944) and arrive at Malpensa at 13:16. The train is much more expensive than the bus. The Frecciarossa is €114, the Malpensa Express is €26, for a total of €140. Will have to wait for Mary to wake up to see which way she wants to go.

Just before it reached 08:00 I took off for the laundromat. Got there a tad before 08:00 and the door was open, so in I went and started the wash. By 08:30 the washing was done and into the dryer. I managed to finish my book before the clothes were dry. Once they were dried I folded them and packed them into the travel bag.

I was back at the apartment before it had gone 09:30. Mary was just getting out of the shower. I packed the things that I just washed into my suitcase, laid out my clothes for tomorrow, and made a cup of tea.

We went to the market to get polenta, vegetables and sausages for dinner, Luisa’s choice. We tried to drop them off at Serra’s but no one was at home. So we walked back to the apartment. I took a nap while Mary packed her things in the living room.

It had just gone noon when I woke up. We walked over to Serra’s to have lunch. I played with Amadea while they women ate lunch. The Gloria took Luisa and Amadea out for a stroller ride. I sat and booked the train for tomorrow. Looked at the weather in Casablanca when we arrive. Sorted out a few things more, made some changes in my outfit for tomorrow based on the projected weather on landing.

We sat and played cards and in between hands I packed up the coffee, moka pot, frother, and other things to take with us to Serra’s when we go for dinner. Otherwise we could walk out of here now and board the train for Malpensa.

We walked over to Serra’s just after it had gone 16:00. We played with the grandchildren, made dinner, sat with the whole family and ate dinner, then got up and washed the dishes, put the dishes away, and then finally about 20:00 we walked back to our apartment. We read our feeds on the iPhones, and then went to sleep. Dreaming of the adventure which begins tomorrow.

Buonanotte e Ciao, Enrico e Maria
