Jasper, Alberta, Canada

There is an optional Maligine Lake Cruise today, however we have opted out of it. We are just taking the day off. I got up and walked to the Starbucks which is located one hotel north of us, less than 250 meters. I got my normal egg, sausage & cheese sandwich and tea. Unfortunately, the room was too small and didn’t have a place for me to sit and write, so I just sat and perused through facebook.

Just before 07:30I I walked into town to the Bear Paw Bakery and got Mary a cinnamon sticky bun. I dropped that off in the room and then went to Starbucks and got her a coffee. We did finally go out for lunch about 11:00. We walked back to downtown Jasper and went to a family diner called Smitty’s Family Restaurant. We had a nice breakfast for lunch experience.

After lunch we walked back to the hotel, stopped on the way at couple different shops, and a local grocery market, Nestor’s, and got some snacks which will eventually comprise dinner. Back at the hotel I took a good nap.

Tomorrow we will be going to Banff along the Icefield Parkway with a stop the Columbia Icefield and Athabasca Glacier. We have been informed that there will be stops for food but there may not be a lot of choices and because of their locations could be fairly expensive. Forewarned is forearmed, so we walked back to Nestors and got a couple sandwiches, some Baby Bel cheese and A&W rootbeer for our lunch.

That was our all off. Just chilling out relaxing.
