Wednesday. It is cold but it is neither raining no snowing. Again, not much going on today. The cleaners will be at the house from 11:00 to 13:00. Then the chef stops by and prepares dinner. They have a chef prepare them three dinners a week, in a normal week. Tonight, she is just preparing fajitas, cilantro lime rice, ranchero beans, chimichurri steak with simmer sauce, pollo asada, Smokey chili shrimp, pico de gallo, guacamole, all served with tortillas and sour cream, for the family.
Â
Mary and I are going to the airport to pickup Harry V. He arrives from school at 10:30. We picked Harrry V up and drove back toward the house to drop him off. Unfortunately, the apartment over the garage next door isn’t available due to Justin’s work schedule. So, Harry V was going to be regulated to the couch in the living room until Saturday when George leaves for Italy and his room becomes available.
Â
Being a good grandmother, Mary said he should stay with us. Ok, our room has a pull-out couch. No, that wouldn’t be good for Harry V, so she checked with the hotel and was able to get him his own room, at least until George leaves. What a good grandmother.
Â
We checked him in to the hotel and then dropped Mary off at the house because she was going to have lunch with George. Harry V and I walked down the hill to Bo Lings for lunch. A good opportunity to have Ma Po Tofu. Most people can’t take the spicy of this dish, and nearly everyone seems to hate tofu. We also had beef chow fun, another favorite, but people seem to get to it before I have an opportunity to have a taste. All this was served with steamed rice. Nice lunch.
Â
After lunch we walked back to the hotel. Harry V had a call; works like his grandmother thank God. I was able to take a nice nap. Around 15:00 I texted Harry V to see if he wanted to go back to the house. He had also taken a nap but wasn’t ready to go. I went to Brookside Market to pick up a few things, like water, soda, and the like. Afterwards I stopped by the house and dropped off the duffle bag for V and picked up the last can of coffee for the Moka pot.
Â
We went back to the house about 18:00 for dinner. The chef’s meal was really good. I really enjoyed the ranchero beans and chimichurri steak with simmer sauce. The smokey chili shrimp were ok, but they would have been better if they were hot. After my after-dinner cigar we headed back to the hotel and called it a night.
