Sunday
On board the SS Mariner and still heading to Bermuda
The sea was rough again last night. We are hoping that the captain’s noon announcement yesterday will hold and it will calm down by noon. The sea a calmer today. The wind is still blowing but the bigger waves have dissipated. We went to breakfast in the La Veranda.
After breakfast we went downstairs to the card room and play canasta while they refreshed our room. We were back at La Veranda for lunch. Just something simple because Eddie, the cruise director has invited us to have dinner with him.
At 18:00 to the Constellation Theater for the Seven Seas Society event. The captain presented us with our Platinum Seven Seas pins. There are seven levels of the society. Bronze for sailing seven nights; basically everyone on the cruise is at least bronze. Silver for anyone sailing 21 – 74 nights. Gold, if you have sailed 75 – 199 nights. Platinum for sailing 200 – 299 nights. Titanium for those who have graced the ship for 300 – 999 nights. There are two more levels as well. Diamond for 1,000 – 1,999 nights and Commodore for those who have sailed with Regent for over 2,000 nights.
It may be hard to believe but there were several people in the top three tiers. Even with the deepest discounts it comes to about $500 a night per person. If you think about it, the people in the top three tiers have spend over $1,000,000 on Regent. They should be honored.
We met Eddie and two other guests at Compass Rose for dinner. It was nice to meet some other people and hear Eddie talk about him self. After dinner we went back to the room. We turned the clock back another hour found this morning. I went down and had a cigar in an effort to go to bed late. We are still struggling a little with the last two-time changes. But it is still better that trying to make six or more hours flying.
Another quite day, just sailing along.
